The North Woodside Road scheme included shortening the length of the road available for driving by extending the cycleway. A zebra crossing has been provided for pedestrians accessing the steps to the supermarket.
The Maryhill Road crossing on North Woodside Road has now been completed. Corduroy tactile paving has again been used erroneously in place of the wider gap Cycleway type. Left and right turns have been banned with the Ahead Only sign.
The new cycle traffic signal at the Maryhill Road crossing on North Woodside Road. Note the Ahead Only sign forbidding left and right turns, including into Hopehill Road for accessing the supermarket.
The finished replacement crossing on North Woodside Road at Maryhill Road. Note the Ahead Only sign on the traffic signal.
Benches and an overflowing bin, but no cycle route signage at the junction of Ferry Road and the cycle path to Kelvinhaugh Road.
Placemaking (I think) at Ferry Road. Benches have been installed next to the bin, but still no restoration of direction signage (such as in #37216) for the cycle routes.
Start of byway - I haven't tested it, but cyclists should be able to get through to the Helford River at the head of Porth Navas Creek.
The A394 in Helston briefly closed for Flora Day - only the 7am dance comes this way, the others stay closer to the town centre.
Access to a road a couple of hundred metres away - but you can't take a bike either way on the coastal footpath.
In theory I suppose that's a modal filter up there. You could get a bike to the coast here but can't take it either way on the coastal footpath.
.. but what is this nonsense? (see #182651) - Cyclists Dismount sign where cars are obviously free to move around - on the way to new cycle parking in a car park just off Causewayhead, Penzance. (And why so far above the ground?)

Tiny Sheffield stands near the rebuilt entrance to Lidl supermarket. These do not support the bike well, particularly when loading shopping.
Construction of the rebuilt modal filter at North Woodside Road is nearly complete. The road and pedestrian traffic signals have been brought into use, but the cycle signals are still bagged up.
University Avenue at the western limit of its reworking. Note the centre line is less restrictive than the lane lines.
[Image taken 22.6.21] Aldi, Kathryn Avenue, Monks Cross, Huntington, York. Good points: the racks are Sheffields; no lifting is required to get a cycle in or out; there's no problem with manoeuvring backwards; they are under cover; they are ... [more]
[UPDATE: See: #175976] [Image taken 17.11.21] Monks Cross retail park, Monks Cross, Huntington, York. I hope my meeting in the first week of November 2021, with the retail park asset manager and centre manager, plus the CYC active travel of ... [more]
